The XPRESS project deals also with the assessment of environmental and socio-economic impacts of renewable energy source (RES) technologies and related innovations.
We are conducting a whole life cycle sustainability assessment (LCSA) of a hand-picked case-studies across ten European countries, where an innovative tendering procedure was followed, a smart or tailored RES technology was purchased by a local public authority and/or the innovative solution was created by a European SME.
The sustainability assessment will be carried out through a life-cycle perspective, hence based on the ISO standardized and widely established Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology. In the first deliverable D4.1, a literature review together with a first screening of the TED platform data was carried out, presenting the overall sustainability assessment framework and the chosen Key Performance Indicators.
