In 1987, an important group of 14 insurance companies operating in the automobile sector decided to create a research centre shared by them, with the aim of acquiring greater knowledge of the automobile.
This led to the creation of the Instituto de Investigación sobre Vehículos, S.A., better known as Centro Zaragoza, whose facilities were strategically located in the town of Pedrola, a town 35 kilometres from Zaragoza, given the proximity between this location and the main headquarters of most of the partner insurance companies.
With a plot of land of 40,772 square metres and a built-up area of 16,000 square metres, Centro Zaragoza has the necessary equipment to carry out its activity, oriented towards research into methods of repairing damage to vehicles and the prevention of traffic accidents.
