2017 brann lågstadiebyggnaden på Ljungbyhedsskolan ner. Sedan dess har skolan haft delar av sin verksamhet i moduler. 2021 beslutades att Ljungbyhedsskolan skall återuppbyggas som en skola för två paralleller årkurs F-9 samt att skolans matsal skall ha en publik entré utmed gata. I upphandlingen ingår ombyggnad av befintlig skola samt en tillbyggnad för lågstadiet i två våningar och en tillbyggnad för matsal. Projektet ska genomföras i fyra etapper och samtliga etapper ingår i denna upphandling.
